You may want to make your bathroom beautiful and dramatic looking, but make sure you take practical matters into account as well. This can be a very beautiful space in your home but it also has to function well. New bathroom accessories help to make this easier than ever. Some of them have to be thought about in advance and installed as the bathroom is installed, but some of them can be added on well after the fact. A sleek new shower stall is a pleasure to behold, but if you don’t have a way to keep all of the paraphenalia of the showering process neat, it will lose its beauty quickly.

Install a shower caddy, and you will be able to keep all of the soaps, shampoos, body washes, etc. off the shower shelves or bathroom edge and well organized. Depending on how much "stuff" you have in the shower, you can just hang an organizer over the shower head, or you can install a multishelf unit on rods. If you have decided that it is time to put in new bathroom florr tiles, why not take it one step further and heat the bathroom at the same time? Stone and ceramic tiles are very popular flooring materials in bathrooms, but they can feel really cold after a hot shower. If you are installing the floor, it is a simple matter to put electric heating under the flooring, as long as you do it before the floor is installed. This will make the floor more comfortable as well as heat the entire room.

Another addition that will help keep you warm after a bath or shower, but will not cost as much as a heated floor is a heated towel rack. This is a real luxury found in some of the best hotels and it is a delightful luxury to wrap yourself in a warm towel after a bath. Small luxuries such as this make life sweeter.

One other small, inexpensive but practical aaddition to a bathroom is a place to sit. You can decide upon a seat that goes right into the bath or shower, or you can just add a little seat outside. A small stool or bench that allows you to sit and dry feet and legs, or rub on cream or foot pumice is another little luxury you will appreciate. Forget the days of jumping from one foot to the other to dry them.

These kinds of small luxuries will add beauty to your bath but also add a great deal of comfort to your bath routine.

Not many people fit carpets in their bathrooms, because people don’t think they are well suited. There has been a lot of improvement in modern carpets which can make them suitable for use in bathrooms. If you don’t like the idea of cutting your own carpet then you can buy precut carpet.

This bathroom carpet can be installed very easily, it can be cut with a pair of scissors. These bathroom carpets are normally only used in small bathrooms as tiles installed around toilets is safer in case of a spillage. You can normally purchase this carpet in a number of different colors and designs, these are also normally fairly cheap.

This will mean that it’s inexpensive to replace the carpet if it ever gets damaged. If you commonly have overflows and spills then this type of flooring probably isn’t the right option for you. Like uncovered drywall, these types of bathroom carpet are best suited to rooms which aren’t used as often.

Large Bathrooms

If you have a large bathrooms you should probably consider using rugs. You can buy bathroom rugs from all popular bathroom stores on the high street. You can also buy shaped rugs to fit around the sink and toilets. If can be difficult to use wall to wall carpet in a large bathroom as it will often get wet and mark very easily.

The bath area will need an extra rug in order to mop up any of the extra water. Vacuuming a large carpet can be very difficult in a bathroom, and it will be quite expensive to install. Although carpets may claim to be nonskid, they rarely are. Over time they will slip and crease if you’re not careful. It is much better to use rugs in a large bathroom.
